Alabama Background Checks
Alabama Criminal Records
The Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center (abbreviated ACJIC) controls Alabama criminal records. Its main purpose is to provide the various criminal justice agencies of Alabama with information, training and expertise. The ACJIC will also help citizens when appropriate in conducting Alabama background checks.
The ACJIC can allow you to check and correct your criminal record, as well as authenticate criminal history reports. Unless you are an approved employer subscribed to the Alabama Background Check System or a law enforcement entity, you will only be able to access your own criminal record.
If you would like to see your Alabama criminal records, do the following:
-
Step 1: Fill out a Request to Review, Appeal, or Challenge form. Click Here.
Step 2: Include a payment of $25 to access your criminal record, which is payable by check or money order made out to the State of Alabama.
Step 3: Mail request form and payment to the address indicated on the form.
This same form and fee apply if you want to challenge information in your criminal record, although you will also need to include the corrected information and supporting documents.
