Delaware Driving Records

If you need Delaware driving records for conducting a Delaware background check, then you will need to contact the Delaware Department of Motor Vehicles. Because of the highly personal information contained in Delaware driving records, in most cases, you will only be able to access your own Delaware driving record. However, with proper documentation, some employers may also be granted access.

To get a copy of your Delaware driving record, you will need to complete a personal information release form and have it notarized. A $15 fee will be charged for a 3 year record. To reduce processing time, include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. You can then mail the form and fee in to the Division of Motor Vehicles.

If you are a business with a valid reason to access Delaware driving records for a Delaware background check, then you will need to fill out the same form. You will also need to include the name and address of your business and your own personal information, including address and driver’s license number. The form will need to be notarized and you will need to obtain consent from the employee to conduct the driving records Delaware background check. The same $15 fee applies.
