Georgia Criminal Records
If you need to access Georgia criminal records for conducting your Georgia background checks, then you will need to contact the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. You can usually obtain your Georgia criminal records from any local police department. Your Georgia criminal record will include your identification data, including name, date of birth, social security number, and physical characteristics. It will also include arrest data, final judicial disposition data, and custodial information if you were incarcerated.
In most cases, you cannot obtain Georgia criminal records on another person without their consent. However, the Georgia Felon Search website will verify if a person has been convicted of a crime. There is a $15 fee for that service. Your local law enforcement office can also provide you with records and may charge a fee of up to $20.

Georgia Court Records
If you are seeking Georgia court records for your Georgia background check, then you will need to contact the Supreme Court of Georgia. Their website allows you to search for Georgia court records that are considered public domain.
Georgia court records are searchable by docket number, attorney name, or part of the style. The computerized docketing system allows you to access cases docketed within the last three terms of the court, regardless of whether the cases are still pending or have been decided.

Georgia Jail Records
If you need to access Georgia jail records for a Georgia background check, then you will need to contact the Georgia Department of Corrections. Their website allows you to search by GDC or ID number or using an advanced search option that allows you to search by name and offense. You can choose to see inmates that are currently incarcerated or all inmates past and present. Information may include the inmate’s year of birth, physical characteristics, incarceration details, known aliases, current and prior sentences, and incarceration history.

Georgia Inmate Query
Georgia Driving Records
If you need Georgia driving records for Georgia background checks, then you have three methods of requesting them from the Georgia Department of Driver Services: online, in person, and through the mail.
Non-certified copies of Georgia driving records are available online. You will need to know your driver’s license number, date of birth, password, and a valid credit card to pay the access fee. There is a charge of $6 for a 3 year history and $8 for a 7 year history. You can use Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover to pay your fee.
You can also request Georgia driving records in person at any customer service center. You will be required to present proper identification. If you would like to obtain a Georgia driving record for purpose of a Georgia background check on another person, then you will need to bring in a signed authorization from that person. Only originals will be accepted. You will need the full name, date of birth, and driver’s license number of the person for which you are accessing the Georgia driving records. The fee for a 3 year record is $6, and the fee for a 7 year record is $8. All customer service centers will accept Visa and MasterCard for payment.
You can also obtain your Georgia driving record in the mail by submitting Form DDS-18. The request needs to include your full name, driver’s license number, date of birth, mailing address, and a self addressed stamped envelope. You will also need to include the fee of $6 for a 3 year history or $8 for a 7 year history. You can pay by personal or business check, money order, cashier check, or credit card. Please make payment out to the Department of Driver Services.
