Kansas Court Records

If you are looking for Kansas court records for conducting Kansas background checks, you can access these through the Kansas Judicial Branch. Many records are available for public access, however, certain ones may be closed by statute, including adoption records, personal information of public employees, search warrants, expunged records, juvenile records, and others.

Kansas Jail Records

If you would like to access Kansas jail records, the Kansas Department of Corrections maintains the Kansas Adult Supervised Population Electronic Repository (KASPER). Anyone can search Kasper by looking for an offender’s name, race, date of birth, social security number, KDOC number, or other identification. A search will turn up an individual, a list of possible matches, or a “no match” result. You will then be able to view the offender’s information and print the data if needed.

Kansas Driving Records

To review Kansas driving records as part of a Kansas background check, contact the Kansas DMV. Kansas driving records are available by walk-in or mail-in request. A Motor Vehicle Record costs $10 and a certified copy costs $15. Drivers License Folders cost $20, and a certified copy costs $25.

You can only access your own Kansas Driving record without a notarized consent from the other person. You will need to fill out a TR/DL form to process your request. Requests are processed as quickly as possible, however. If there are additional fees involved, you will be given an estimate within three business days to help you decide if you would like to move forward with your request.
