New Mexico Background Checks

There is no bad time to perform New Mexico background checks when you're curious about somebody's past. It's not a matter of whether or not you trust the individual - what matters is that you're curious, and you want to find that information.

Whenever you need to search for someone in your life, whether it's:

  • Because you have a new love interest you met online.
  • Because you have a new home caretaker for your child.
  • Because you're thinking about offering someone a job.
  • Whatever the reason, these New Mexico background checks give you the chance to make sure that you're making the right decision.

    What is Included?

You won't find any information that is a significant breach of privacy, such as financial data, etc. The person needs to give you permission to view those clearly private files. What you will get is safety and government collected information, including things like criminal histories, marital statuses, etc.

You may also get contact information, information gleamed from online portfolios, and more. All of it is collected into one place through public records searches and provided to you when you need it. No one is notified that you completed that search, and you can take that knowledge and use it however you please.

There is a lot of value to being able to search this way - you no longer have to trust someone's words. You can simply take their name, type it into the search box, and see what comes up. Sometimes it's nothing important. Sometimes it's life changing. The information is already out there for you use, so all you need to do is use it.

    New Mexico Criminal Records

New Mexico criminal records are maintained and distributed by the New Mexico State Central Repository for Criminal History, which holds offenders’ arrest records for felony and misdemeanor offenses (only for offenses resulting in 6 months or greater jail sentences), as well as DWI offenses. All New Mexico criminal records are based on fingerprint cards taken during arrest and are the source document for all criminal history submissions made by various state law enforcement agencies. The associated AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System) is maintained by the Department of Public Safety.

Individuals cannot request personal New Mexico criminal records, but can view them in person through personal attorney or other authorized agent. AFIS uses proprietary biometric software to maintain this database, which was instituted in 2007. Livescan stations are now stationed in detention centers throughout New Mexico to further facilitate accurate fingerprinting at the time of arrest and to help maintain accurate criminal history information for each individual.

The total fee for government agencies requiring a complete New Mexico criminal records check where the request is submitted electronically is $33, while submissions via mail cost $44. Fingerprinting services performed cost government agencies $7.
