Wyoming Criminal Records

If you would like to access Wyoming criminal records for your Wyoming background checks, then the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation can assist you. Under Wyoming statutes, you can access your own Wyoming background check and give that record to any person you designate. However, you will need to submit a fingerprint card and the appropriate fee.

Most applicants requesting Wyoming criminal records will be charged $15. However, some law enforcement agencies will also charge an additional $5 fingerprinting fee. Most Wyoming background checks will be completed in 10 business days, however, should you need your Wyoming criminal records by a specified date, it is recommended that you make your request at least three weeks in advance to allow for processing time.

Your Wyoming criminal record check will consist of criminal arrest and conviction records that occurred in the state. This will include felonies, high misdemeanors, and other specified misdemeanors. It may also include some federal records if authorized, but will not include municipal ordinance violations.

Wyoming Court Records

To research Wyoming court records, begin your inquiry with the Supreme Court Clerk’s Office. The office maintains an online database that allows you to search court cases. You have the option to search by case, issue, or participant. Case searches will require you to know the case number. Issue searches require you to know the case type. Participant searches require you to know the last name or company name of one of the participants.

Wyoming Jail Records

The Wyoming Department of Corrections is the source for helping you to access Wyoming jail records. You can make a request if you are a victim of a crime by filling out a Victim Bill of Rights Notification Request. You can also access basic offender information online using the VINELink system.

The Department of Corrections is able to release specific information about offenders. This includes the commencement of sentence and location, anticipated releases, escapes and recaptures, sentence reductions and extensions, location changes, and similar information. Parole information including upcoming hearings, granting or modification or parole, and rescission of parole can also be accessed along with appeal and pardon applications. Due to state statutes, some information may be restricted to individuals who were victims of the crime and may not be available to the general public.

Wyoming Driving Records

Should you need Wyoming driving records for Wyoming background checks, this information is available from the Wyoming Department of Transportation. You can request a Wyoming driving record for yourself or someone else.

Obtaining your own Wyoming driving records costs $5. You can visit any Wyoming driver examination station in person and present your Wyoming driver license or state ID to request one. You can also send in a written request, which takes 7 to 10 working days to process. You will need to use driving record form DSFR-11E for this purpose.

Obtaining someone else’s Wyoming driving record is also subject to a $5 fee. You will need to fill out a driver history and privacy disclosure release from DSFR-11C. You must also meet at least one of the authorized usage requirements under the Federal Driver Privacy Act.

Your Wyoming driving record will include the past three years of moving violations, uninsured accidents, insurance violations, and similar offenses. It will also include the past five years of instances of driving under the influence, reckless driving, vehicular homicide, and similar convictions. You can also receive a 10 year history if needed by your employer, however, you must specifically indicate in your written request that a 10 year Wyoming driving record is required.
